    • 摘要: Annona squamosa is a multipurpose fruit tree employed in nutritional,medicinal,and industrial fields.Its fruit is significantly enriched in sugars,making it an excellent species to study sugar accumulation in fruit.However,the scarcity of genomic resources hinders genetic studies in this species.This study aimed at generating large-scale genomic resources in A.squamosa and deciphering the molecular basis of its high sugar content.Herein,we sequenced and characterized the full-length transcriptome of A.squamosa fruit using PacBio Iso-seq.In addition,we analyzed the changes in sugar content over five fruit growth and ripening stages,and we applied RNA-sequencing technology to investigate the changes in gene expression related to sugar accumulation.A total of 783,647 circular consensus sequences were generated,from which we obtained 48,209 high-quality,full-length transcripts.Additionally,1,838 transcription factors and 1,768 long non-coding RNAs were detected.Furthermore,we identified 10,400 alternative splicing events from 2,541 unigenes having on average 2–4 isoforms.A total of 15,061 simple sequence repeat(SSR)motifs were discovered and up to three primer pairs were designed for each SSR locus.Sugars mainly accumulate during the ripening stage in A.squamosa.Most of the genes involved in sugar transport and metabolism in the fruit were progressively repressed overgrowth and ripening stages.However,sucrose phosphate synthase involved in sucrose synthesis and more importantly,isoamylase,alpha-amylase,beta-amylase,4-alphaglucanotransferase genes involved in starch degradation displayed positive correlations with sugar accumulation in fruit.Overall,we provide here a high-quality,full-length transcriptome assembly which will facilitate gene discovery and molecular breeding of A.squamosa.We found that starch degradation during fruit ripening was the main channel for sugar accumulation in A.squamosa fruit,and the key genes positively linked to sugar accumulation could be further studied to identify targets for controlling sugar content in A.squamosa fruit.

    • 摘要: Simple linear iterative cluster(SLIC) is widely used because controllable superpixel number, accurate edge covering, symmetrical production and fast speed of calculation. The main problem of the SLIC algorithm is its under-segmentation when applied to segment artificial structure images with unobvious boundaries and narrow regions. Therefore, an improved clustering segmentation algorithm to correct the segmentation results of SLIC is presented in this paper. The allocation of pixels is not only related to its own characteristic, but also to those of its surrounding pixels.Hence, it is appropriate to improve the standard SLIC through the pixels by focusing on boundaries. An improved SLIC method adheres better to the boundaries in the image is proposed, by using the first and second order difference operators as magnified factors. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves an excellent boundary adherence for artificial structure images. The application of the proposed method is extended to images with an unobvious boundary in the Berkeley Segmentation Dataset BSDS500. In comparison with SLIC, the boundary adherence is increased obviously.

    • 摘要: The computational capabilities of off-the-shelf wireless sensors networks presents a limitation when more complex forms of localization algorithms are employed for location estimation purposes, particularly in an indoor environment. Range-free algorithms rely on Received Signal Strength (RSS) from sensors that are location aware (anchor nodes) as the major means of distance estimation. This paper presents a non-site specific algorithm for better estimating RSS relationship with distance. By employing a unique form of rationalization of raw RSS with respect to distance using the proposed algorithm, it is possible to enhance the reliability of RSS when employed in indoor Localization Algorithms. Consequently, this paper presents an innovative RSS-Distance rationalization algorithm for localization of objects in an indoor environment. The paper compared the proposed algorithm with Simple Moving Average (SMA) algorithm due to the wide applicability and ease of manipulation of SMA. The analysis of the proposed algorithm and SMA shows that the proposed algorithm better modifies RSS for more accurate position estimation in an indoor environment.

    • 摘要: We suggest that the Lamb shift can be approximated by a very simple function that seems accurate enough for most experimental researchers working with elements where the relativistic effects of the electron are minimal, that is up to element 80 or so. Even if our new approximation does not show anything new in quantum chemistry per se, we think that it can be useful for experimental researchers and students of both quantum physics and chemistry;now everyone can calculate the Lamb shift on the back of an envelope.

    • 摘要: Persons with diabetes who require surgical procedures are increasing day by day.Many of the regimens available to manage patients with diabetes perioperatively are complex.Hence,the junior doctors and the paramedics(Primary care providers on a 24/7 basis)find it difficult to execute them.We need a simple regimen that can be executed in a primary care setting/general floor as it is becoming difficult to accommodate the patients in a sophisticated setting because of the increasing burden of the disease.We suggest a simple regimen in this article(Ram’s regimen)which we believe safer,economical and more effective than few simple regimens available to date.Moreover,this regimen does not require any additional equipment such as syringe pumps,measured-volume set,etc.Hence,this regimen can be implemented in a primary care setting/general floor easily and we hope that it will be useful for doctors of various specialties and their patients.

    • 摘要: This paper presents the detailed analysis of academic development index and longevity among forensic science laboratory (FSL) employees as the key factors for improving organizational performance based on human capital development. The data were collected from human resource database involving 171 (88%) employees out of 195. New mathematical formulations were developed for academic development index Ad, a measure of the time delay in academic development while working within FSL, simple longevity (Ls) and complex longevity (Lc), based on years served and academic certificates attained. The values of Ad, Ls and Lc were compared for different units and departments including zonal laboratories between Y2014 and Y2016. Both total and average values of Ls, Lc?and Ad indicated an imbalance in the distribution of staff in different laboratories, necessitating re-allocation to improve performance. The employment trend analysis shows that the work force has been diversified from Y2004 to Y2016 leading to improved management of finance, procurement and human resource in the FSL. As a result of a training program, the percent of staff with MSc has been increasing from about 3.5% in Y2004 to 9% in Y2015. The average values of longevity and academic development index were observed to be the better parameters for comparing laboratories or units than the total values. Results show a balanced staff distribution based on Lc and Ad is inevitable for improved performance. It was concluded that the new indices (Ad and Lc) are important tools for describing the development of the workforce and competitiveness of the FSL.

    • 摘要: In waves dynamics, Generalized Kortewegde Vries (gKdV) equation and Sawada-Kotera equation (Ske) have been used to study nonlinear acoustic waves, an inharmonic lattice and Alfven waves in a collisionless plasma, and a lot of more important physical phenomena. In this paper, the simple equation method (SEM) is used to obtain new traveling wave solutions of gKdv and Ske. The physical properties of the obtained solutions are graphically illustrated using suitable parameters. The computational simplicity of the proposed method shows the robustness and efficiency of SEM.
