在应用翻译中，翻译目的对文本功能转换具有制约作用，其中委托人的目的和意图具有重要参考作用，译者则具有合目的性的价值创造的主体性发挥区间，即主-客观互动关系形成的理据阈。本文通过对一则典型校训英译的剖析，说明主-客观理据论是拓展功能-目的论的重要理论范畴，对应用翻译研究具有可阐释和可证性的方法论意义。%In pragmatic translation, the purposes of translation play a certain decisive role in determining meaning choic-es, among which the entruster’s purposes and intentions are significantly restrictive. Nevertheless, the translator is entitled to a range-bound value-creative subjectivity with purposiveness, that is, the motivations-limited interactions between subjectivity and objectivity. The paper, through analysis of English translating of a typical Chinese motto, touches upon an important theo-retic category of “Subjectivity-&-Objectivity Interacted Motivations” in development of the Function-Skopostheorie, which shows its methodological significance featuring interpretativeness and verifiability in pragmatic translation studies.
