文化缺省的翻译补偿--以《三国演义》两个英译本为例

Linguistic and cultural differences inevitably lead to translation loss, and translators will make corresponding compensa⁃tion intentionally or unintentionally due to the specificity of the translating process. In order to achieve the purpose of communica⁃tion, the translation compensation for cultural default is of vital importance. A comparative analysis of different translation compen⁃sation means for cultural default is conducted and constraints behind them are explored in two English versions of Sanguo Yanyi in the paper.%语言文化差异必然导致翻译损失，翻译活动的特质性使译者有意无意进行相应补偿。为实现交际目的，文化缺省的翻译补偿异常重要。该文以《三国演义》两个英译本为例，对比分析两位译者对于文化缺省的翻译补偿手段，并探讨其背后的制约因素。
