Spice up your tofu

I have a list in my head of things that 'Captain Fantastic' is not keen on eating. Tomato is at the top - though curiously he will eat a sliced beef tomato in olive oil as it reminds him of happy holidays in France. A very close second is tofu. I think the 'anti tofu propaganda' stems from when he had a vegetarian girlfriend who only cooked tofu and drank soya milk. The romance soon fizzled out! He likes his rare steak, and roast beef on Sunday far too much to have got tangled up with a veggie. That's what he tells me anyway.rnBut tofu was on offer in the supermarket and before I could think about the verbal consequences of cooking it (why do vegetarians look pale, why not eat meat instead of trying to make a bath sponge taste of meat etc) a packet was in the trolley. On this occasion I was shopping solo and so the tofu made it through the check-out and back to the boat and remained hidden in the freezer compartment until the weather improved and it was time to bring out the barbecue and cook some kebabs.
