诗歌翻译中的忠实与创造——以“青青河畔草”译本为例

摘要

In terms of fidelity and creativity in poetry translation, translations on“Nineteen Old Poems·Green Green the River⁃side Grass”by Arthur Waley, Liu Wu-chi, Burton Watson, Herbert A.Giles, Xu Yuanchong and Ezra Pound are analyzed and evaluated. At the end of the essay, a new version is put forward. Fidelity and creativity is not a contradiction in poetry translation. On the one hand, to achieve fidelity in rhythm, form and meaning of a poem, the translators are required to be creative;on the other hand, creativity should be on the basis of fidelity and the translation version should not exceed the original poem in both content and style.%　　围绕诗歌翻译中的忠实与创造问题,分析评价Arthur Waley,柳无忌,Burton Watson,Herbert A.Giles,许渊冲及Ezra Pound六位译者对“古诗十九首·青青河畔草”一诗的翻译,并在文章的最后提出自己的译文.指出诗歌翻译中忠实与创造并非一对矛盾.一方面,要实现诗歌音、形、义的全面忠实,必须依靠译者发挥创造性.而另一方面,创造也应以忠实为前提,译诗在内容和形式上都不应以超过原诗为目标.
