汉语新词英译的顺应论视角

摘要

该文探讨了汉语新词英译的特点并从Verschueren的顺应理论视角分析汉语新词翻译的语言选择机制。笔者认为：汉语新词的翻译应当努力传达出其准确意义，实现原文作者与译文读者间的交际。为达此目的，译者在翻译汉语新词时，必须顺应于译文的语言环境、社会化语境以及译者的心理动机和译文读者的审美期待、接受能力等进行语言选择，正确、充分地传达新词的明示和暗含，以达成与原文作者与译文读者之间的跨文化交际。%This paper focuses on the characteristics of Chinese Neologisms renderings and the analysis of the pragmatic mecha-nism of linguistic choices from the perspective of Verschueren’s Adaptation Theory. The author maintains that the translator should achieve communicational effects between the author and the target audience by putting all his efforts to carry out the pre-liminary meanings of Chinese new words. To that end, when rendering Chinese Neologisms, the translator should take into con-sideration the factors such as the target linguistic environment, social-cultural context, the translator’s intentions, the target read-ers’aesthetic expectations and acceptability level, etc. to choose his wordings. In this way, the original explicatures and/or impli-catures will be conveyed and the renderings will be accepted among target readers, which can achieve cross-cultural communica-tions between the author and readers of his text.
