The present invention relates to a safety device for improving stability in charging an electric vehicle using a portable electric vehicle using a portable electric vehicle charging cable. The safety device comprises: a male connector installed in a facility, and coupling to a general socket supplying electricity; an insulating transformer of which a primary side is connected to the male connector, and the primary side and a secondary side are electrically insulated; an earth leakage breaker connected to the secondary side of the insulating transformer, and blocking a line when a leakage current occurs; and a female connector connected to a portable electric vehicle charging cable.
