摘要

The purpose of this study is to examine how students understand the necessity of a teacher behaving cheerfully, with a smile, during practical training in a kindergarten. The results showed that the students recognized the need for behaving cheerfully in front of children as follows: 1) to allow the children to enjoy their activities, 2) to build the good relations between the teachers and the children, and 3) to hide their uneasiness or lack of confidence. In addition, it showed that the students found that cheerful behavior led to increases the childrenu27s motivation and confidence, thus demonstrating an educational value. However, there was one case in which the student fell into difficulty as she was repeatedly required to display a cheerful smile.
