As the increase of magneticrecording density, FePt films with ordered L1_0 structure have-potential application in ultra high density recording because of its high magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant K_u. Generally, as-deposited FePt films have a disordered fcc structure with a soft magnetic phase. The formation of ordered fct L1_0 hard magnetic phase required post-annealing at an elevated temperature of about 600 ℃ that result in grain growth and has disadvantage of recording density of recording films. In this work, we added ZnO to FePt films in order to decrease the chemical ordering transformation temperature and get [001] crystalline growth perpendicular the plane.
