Drama primarily serves for the audience within a limited period of time and its language has to be easily understood. Therefore, drama translation has to take these features into consideration. Func⁃tional Equivalence, proposed by the American scholar Eugene Nida, which focuses on the equal response from source language re⁃ceiver as well as the target language receiver, can serve as a proper standard for drama translation.
