《英译中国现代散文选(一)》文化负载词的翻译研究

《英译中国现代散文选(一)》中存在大量的文化负载词.张培基在翻译这些文化负载词时采用了多种翻译方法.其符合厚翻译理论要求的方法较好地向目的语读者传达了中国文化的特色和汉语的文化信息.其为了照顾目的语读者的接受心理、阅读体验,或为了避免冗长复杂采取的违背厚翻译理论要求的省译方法,是造成部分文化负载词翻译不够准确或与原文风格、意境不符的主要原因.%There are a large number of culture-loaded words in Selected Modern Chinese Essays Ⅰ. When rendering them into English, Zhang Peiji adopts an array of translation methods. The methods in line with thick translation serve to convey the characteristics of Chinese culture and the cultural information of Chinese language to the target readers. By contrast, the method of omission goes against the thick translation theory, although it may be aimed to cater to the reception psychology and the reading experience of the target readers or avoid verbose and complex translation. This approach of translation is one of the main reasons that the translation of some culture-loaded words is less accurate or inconsistent with the style and artistic conception of the original text.
