话语标记Well语用功能在汉译英中的再现——以《红楼梦》霍克斯译本为例

以《红楼梦》原著及霍克斯译本前四十回为语料,分析并阐述了霍克斯在英译本中如何使用well来再现源文本中隐含的语用功能.通过对《红楼梦》及霍克斯译本前四十回语料进行比对,发现well用于话语结构功能的使用频率最高,其次是情感功能,面子缓和功能和信息功能.同时指出霍克斯在译文中对well语用功能的处理大多比较成功,但也有少量译文对well的处理还有待商榷.%Based on the 40 chapters of The Story of the Stone and Hawkes` corresponding translation text, the reproduction of the pragmatic functions of the discourse marker well in Chinese to English translation is investigated.Through the comparison between the source text and target text, it is found well is most frequently employed as a frame marker, next is emotional marker, politeness marker and information marker respectively.Meanwhile, it should be pointed out that in most cases well successfully reproduces the pragmatic functions of the source text, but there are also a few examples where its rendering is still open to question.
