The thesis studies the representation of literariness in Chinese literary translation from aesthetics perspective based on the examples from Howard Goldblatt' s translation, who is the most successful translators of Chinese novels warmly accepted by native English readers. The combination of his work analysis and theoretic research and other aspects of content can help us to infer: his dual aesthetics consciousness and awareness of appropriate adaptation attribute to the popularity of Howard inspirations to Chinese literary translators.
