公示语误译研究——以益阳市公示语误译为例

摘要

随着经济的快速发展,中国与其他国家的交流日益频繁。近年来,中国成功地举办了一系列国际盛事,如2008年奥运会,2010年世界博览会,中国国际地位迅速提高,吸引了越来越多的外国人来中国观光、旅游、学习、生活,越来越多的城市为了应对国际化的趋势,开始大量使用双语公示语,因此,双语公示语作为城市的名片,对城市形象,乃至国家形象的影响越来越大,公示语英译也变得越来越重要,越来越多的学者、专家开始关注和研究公示语的英译,本文主要以益阳市为例来研究公示语英译中的误译并就此提出了一些针对性的解决策略。首先,作者作了一个比较全面的文献综述,然后,作者分三章对公示语误译的原因进行了阐述,在第一章中,作者研究了公示语的定义、功能、分类,并大致分析了益阳市公示语误译的现状以及总结了公示语英译已取得的研究成果,回顾了指导公示语英译的相关理论,这些理论包括功能学理论,语言学理论,文化学理论。在第二章中,作者对益阳市的公示语误译现象进行了仔细的分析,并对其进行了深入的探讨,认为益阳市公示语的误译现象主要包括三个层面:语言层面,语用层面,文化层面。在第三章中,作者结合相关理论,探讨了提高公示语翻译质量的原则和翻译策略,同时,呼吁政府设立专门的部门对公示语英译进行监管,培养一批优秀的翻译工作者,并建立畅通的纠错渠道,让广大群众和公示语翻译方面专家都能参与到公示语英译的纠错当中来,做到有错必纠,从而多管齐下,更好地提高公示语英译的质量,净化城市的语言环境,美化城市的形象。
