从异化与归化谈影视翻译

摘要

中国翻译的历史源远流长，已经形成了自身的翻译理论体系，但影视翻译却是一个非常新的领域。外国的影视作品在丰富中国人民的精神文化生活中起着越来越重要的作用。它不仅能娱乐人民大众，而且在促进文化交流、文化传播方面担负着重大的使命。 本文从归化和异化的角度对影视翻译做了尝试性的探索。第一章指出了影视翻译的重要性以及影视翻译的历史和现状。第二章分析了影视翻译类型并分别指出他们的局限性。第三章指出了影视翻译的特点。第四章分析了影视翻译和文化之间的关系，指出影视翻译应从文化角度进行分析，并引出了当今争议最多的一对翻译方法：归化和异化。第五、六章分析了归化和异化的两位杰出代表奈达和韦奴蒂。本文作者认为在结构形式、表达方式、幽默翻译上应该采取归化的方式。但是宗教术语翻译中应采取异化的方式以保留原作的文化色彩促进中西方的文化交流。在固定语表达方面，本文作者认为要视情况而定，在不产生浓厚汉文化意象而且又可以功能对等的情况下，可以采用归化，反之则采用异化。在片名的翻译中，要针对英语片名的特点，采取归化和异化互补的方式。 总之，作者认为，好的影视翻译作品应该是使目标语语观众能够得到和源语观众一样的享受，并可以了解一些源语人民的文化、思维和传统。因此要归化异化同时使用，相互促进。只用一种翻译方法并不能涵盖像影视翻译如此复杂的一个翻译领域。
