A new type of rigid piezo-damping epoxy-matrix composites containing piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate thin films was prepared. The PbZr_(0.47)Ti_(0.53)O_3 thin films were fabricated on the Pt/Ti/Si0_2/Si substrates by sol-gel method. The crystal structure of the films was characterized. The thin films showed a perovskite phase by changing annealing temperature. The produced film and the substrates have been joined into epoxy resin as constrained layer, and then the damping property of composites has been study. Through improving the annealing process when proparing film, the optimum filming technology which can improve the damping property of composites has obtained. The film was hated up to 700°C with 10°C/min and holding time for 30min, then cooling with furnace. By this way, The dielectric constant and the dissipation factor of the PbZr_(0.47)Ti_(0.53)O_3 thin films were about 480 and 0.027 at 1MHz, respectively.The peak of the damping tanδ has reached 0.923. The results show that when the Pb(Zr_(0.53)Ti_(0.47))O_3 thin films annealed at 700 °C, the damping loss factor of the composites has reached the maximum.
