摘要： Background: Happiness varies across the life course in a U shape, with the least happiness in mid-life during the working years. Therefore, choosing a career may be an important factor in life’s happiness. However, the relationship between the career selection process and happiness remains unclear. Methods: We surveyed 805 schoolteachers, office workers, and nurses from an available marketing database using an ad hoc questionnaire assessing happiness and career selection type. Results and Discussion: We found that happiness was significantly greater among schoolteachers and nurses than for office workers in Japan. Furthermore, among schoolteachers and office workers, an evasive/avoidance type of career-selection process had an unfavorable effect on happiness. However, among nurses, no such association was observed. Conclusion: Paying attention to the career-selection process may be helpful to improve happiness.

摘要： With the completion of the strategic vision of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way in 2020,China’s economic development has entered a new normal.The concept of innovative,coordinated,green,open and shared development will lead China’s economic progress and development.However,the development of urban and rural areas and regions in China is still not coordinated,and the sudden COVID-19 outbreak has caused a serious impact on urban low-income groups.Due to the characteristics of poor employment stability,low income and single source,as well as greater family pressure of urban low-income groups,the author focuses on the influencing factors of their feelings of happiness.This paper assumes that the satisfaction degree of residents’needs is positively correlated with residents’feelings of happiness.Based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory,this paper analyzes the factors that may affect the happiness of urban low-income groups in five levels,and explores the special needs and difficulties of urban low-income groups in the context of the epidemic.So as to find ways to improve the happiness of urban low-income people to provide reference.

摘要： Objective:An acute shortage of nurses exists all over the world.Part of this shortage appears to be due to nurses’low job satisfaction,low retention,and high turnover.Happiness at work is identified as a contributing factor that determines the shortage of nurses across the world.This paper critically appraised the existing scientific articles that assessed the individual and organizational predictors of happiness among nurses.Methods:The systematic review was conducted from August 2010 to August 2020 using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines.Scientific articles were searched in the electronic databases(Scopus,Medline,CINAHL,Psych INFO,and Pubmed Central)on the predictors of happiness among nurses.Results:A total of 13 articles were selected following the literature search and a thematic analysis was done.This review provides updated evidence on the predictors of nurses’happiness.Job-related predictors were identified as organizational predictors;and personal,psychological,family,social,and spiritual predictors were reported to be the individual predictors.Conclusions:As both individual and organizational predictors determine the happiness of nurses,the authors recommend the need for future interventional studies to increase the nurses’happiness,their mental health,and health-related quality of life.

摘要： The Chinese sent-down movement between the mid 1950s to the late 1970s is a suffering period for Chinese sent-down youths.Using the treatment effect model and the ordered probit model,we examine the impact of sent-down experience on sent-down youths’income and happiness based on the sample of CGSS2003 and CGSS2006.By doing so,we can explore the long-term consequences of one’s suffering experience.The overall sample regression results show that sent-down experience increase 42% of individuals’income,while reducing 13% of individuals’happiness.Sub-sample analysis results are robust to the conclusion that the sent-down experience makes a positive impact on income and a negative impact on happiness.This study provides objective evidence for the historical evaluation of sent-down movement,a new interpretation for the Easterlin paradox from the view of personality latitude,new empirical evidence for supporting the new human capital theory,and useful inspiration for the the current grass-roots employment policy for university graduates in China.
