China’s first carbon dioxide(CO_(2))measurement satellite mission,TanSat,was launched in December 2016.This paper introduces the first attempt to detect anthropogenic CO_(2) emission signatures using CO_(2) observations from TanSat and NO_(2) measurements from the TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument(TROPOMI)onboard the Copernicus Sentinel-5 Precursor(S5P)satellite.We focus our analysis on two selected cases in Tangshan,China and Tokyo,Japan.We found that the TanSat XCO_(2) measurements have the capability to capture the anthropogenic variations in the plume and have spatial patterns similar to that of the TROPOMI NO_(2) observations.The linear fit between TanSat XCO_(2) and TROPOMI NO_(2) indicates the CO_(2)-to-NO_(2) ratio of 0.8×10^(-16) ppm(molec cm^(-2))^(-1) in Tangshan and 2.3×10^(-16) ppm(molec cm^(-2))^(-1) in Tokyo.Our results align with the CO_(2)-to-NOx emission ratios obtained from the EDGAR v6 emission inventory.

This paper looks at public transport in the city of Szczecin.In the recent years,new means of transport have been offered by both external companies and the city.Many city inhabitants have swapped buses for city bikes,scooters and electric scooters available in large cities.A questionnaire survey has been designed to examine the public opinion on the best transport services offered by external companies and whether life quality in the city has improved owing to a wide offering of means of public transport.The paper aims at an analysis and assessment of the city transport services offered and how they influence the quality of life in the city of Szczecin.

Is GI(Green Infrastructure)viable to mitigate urban pluvial flood caused by extreme storm events?Limited research and planning have been undertaken in recent years,but little practice has been found in the real world.This retrospective study provides an example of mitigating pluvial flood by LID(Low Impact Development)principal and practices and transforming an old,ultra-dense low-income community into a climate change resilient community.The key findings include keeping flood control in mind when designing GI in the beginning;mimicking the sites’hydrologic characteristics as much as possible;outreaching to residences for maintenance issues from the beginning and monitoring the performance of GI facilities continuously.Technically,bioretention growing media with higher infiltration rate is specified that must be great than 150 mm/h in short term and 80 mm/h for long term;this paper chose low maintenance permeable pavement products avoiding clogging;and increasing parking space without compromising the design goals.

With the completion of the strategic vision of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way in 2020,China’s economic development has entered a new normal.The concept of innovative,coordinated,green,open and shared development will lead China’s economic progress and development.However,the development of urban and rural areas and regions in China is still not coordinated,and the sudden COVID-19 outbreak has caused a serious impact on urban low-income groups.Due to the characteristics of poor employment stability,low income and single source,as well as greater family pressure of urban low-income groups,the author focuses on the influencing factors of their feelings of happiness.This paper assumes that the satisfaction degree of residents’needs is positively correlated with residents’feelings of happiness.Based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory,this paper analyzes the factors that may affect the happiness of urban low-income groups in five levels,and explores the special needs and difficulties of urban low-income groups in the context of the epidemic.So as to find ways to improve the happiness of urban low-income people to provide reference.

“The Zoo Story”, as a representative work of the theater of the absurd, is filled with grotesque scenes and languages, in which city images are an essential component. What lies behind the apparent absurdity is the morbid life and psyche of the people in modern city. In fact, man and city consists an important theme of the play. In “The Zoo Story”, the houses, parks, and streets are three main city images that cause oppression and alienation to people. Therefore, the analysis of the dominant urban space and alienated modern citizens in the play from the perspective of city writing enhances the thematic implication of the play.
