Cup-leather packing. - To prevent oil leakage through the crank-shaft bearings of two-stroke-cycle internal-combustion engines, a leather or like washer B is fitted on the shaft adjacent to the bearing, and has its inner edge slightly cupped as shown, so that the washer tends to contract upon the shaft to take up wear, The washer is secured by rivets to a ring C, provided with a dowel pin E engaging a notch in the wall of the crank chamber.
