At its meeting at the 2012 Washington Public Policy Conference, the United Fresh Fresh-Cut Processor Board began work on an ambitious project to evaluate the fresh-cut produce industry's commitment to food safety. The industry has made tremendous investments in food safety, leading to advances and safeguards that retail and foodservice operators, consumers and regulatory bodies should be aware of, especially in light of the recent product recalls.
