摘要

The timing of further expansion of coal production from South Africa's Waterberg coal field remains uncertain judging by comments from Transnet chief executive Brian Molefe and Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) chief executive Siyabonga Gama during the presentation of Transnet's 2012 financial results on July 10.This is despite the announcement made by ASX-listed junior Resource Generation Ltd (Resgen) on June 27 that it had signed a 10-year take-or-pay haulage contract with TFR to haul up to 6mt of coal from its proposed Boi-karabelo mine in the Waterberg which Resgen said could start production in late 2014.According to Resgen managing director Paul Jury, "we have had to make compromises in order to achieve a signed contract with TFR, in particular agreeing to a condition for the allocation of capacity.
