The crystal structures of the four-component chalcogenhalogenide phases Hg_3Te_2BrI (I) and Hg_3S_2(Br_(0.67)I_(0.33))_2 (II) were determined by the single crystal method. Compound I is monoclinic (space group: C2, a = 18.376(5) A, b = 9.587(2) A, c = 10.575(2) A, beta = 100.11(2)), II has a commensurately modulated structure (super space group: Pp42_1 2, a = 13.32(1) A, c = 4.465(5) A, modulation vector [001/2]). A classification of the structures of mercury chalcogenhalogenides Hg_3X_2Hal_2 is also given.
