Meanwhile, Chinese tourism has been developing rapidly. Many tourists crowd into China each year. Therefore, how to make foreigners know more about China becomes the main task of the translation of Chinese tourist guide. The main purposes of tourist guide are to arouse tourists’interests, to transmit Chinese culture and to make readers enjoy the beauty of the scenery spots which reflect the vocative, informative and aesthetic functions of tourist guide respectively. The translator should translate the tourist guide in accordance with its functions. In the process of translation, the translator can use such translating skills as paraphrase, amplification, analogy according to the specific situation. These skills can reproduce the func-tions of the source text and enable the foreign tourists to understand tourist guide better.
