基于COCA语料库的英语近义词辨析：以small和little为例

This study focuses mainly on the synonyms based on the contemporary English corpus (COCA), for example, small and little. The results show that there are some differences on the register distribution, collocation and semantic prosody. This method, compared with traditional teaching methods, could distinguish synonyms more accurately, thus corpus as an effective tool should be introduced to language teaching and learning. What’s more, the corpus could offer some reasonable and effective suggestions for dictionary compilation.%该文基于美国当代英语语料库对small和little这一对近义词进行辨析，发现两者在语域分布、搭配和语义韵上存在差别。这样的区分方法，相对于传统的教学方法更能准确地区分近义词，因而语料库作为有效的工具应该引入到外语教学和学习。同时，语料库能够对词典的编纂提出合理有效的建议。
