胡适认知、理解、解释老子的"道"应用了三种路径,即科学主义、实用主义、进化主义.因为此三种路径的应用,胡适提出了一些独特而新颖的观点:"道"是一种假设、"道"是一种过程、"道"意味着"天人不同类"等;也因为此三种路径的应用,胡适关于老子"道"的理解和解释存在诸多的偏颇:"道"含有阻碍科学发展的特性、"道"具有"重虚轻实"的特性、"道"具有"尚古淡今"的特性、"道"及其德性是无法证实的虚名等.因此,胡适关于"道"的认知、理解和解释,完全是科学主义方法的实践,而在科学主义方法应用过程中,"道"的人文内涵被无情地消解.%Hu Shi used three approaches such as scientism, pragmatism and evolutionism to recognize, understand and explain Lao Zi's Tao. Based on these three approaches, Hu Shi put forward his special and novel viewpoints. For example, he believed that Tao is a kind of hypothesis and a kind of process, which indicates heaven and man are not of the same class. On the other hand, In his recognition and explanation of Lao Zi's Tao exist some misunderstandings. Concretely speaking, In his opinion, Tao hinders the development of science; Tao pays more attention to vacuity but looks down upon reality; and Tao worships the ancient but desalinates the present. Besides, Tao and its virtue are just the empty reputation which can not be confirmed. In con-clusion, Hu Shi's recognition, understanding and explanation of Lao Zi's Tao is totally the practice of scientism, and during this process, the humanistic connotations of Lao Zi's Tao are dispelled relentlessly.
