Acesulfame K, aspartame and saccharin occurrence in carbonated drinks from the Romanian market

The aim of this study was to evaluate the concentration of acesulfame K, aspartame and saccharin in carbonated drinks from the Romanian market and to establish the health risk assessment. The level of the three additives was established in 30 carbonated drinks. Acesulfame K, aspartame and saccharin concentration were measured using an HPLC method, with diode array detector. The acesulfame K, aspartame and saccarhin were recorder at 210, 190 and 201 nm, respectively. For the quantitative determination of the three additives, were built three calibration curves using 3 stock solution (25, 50 and 100 mg/L). The concentration of acesulfame K ranged between 0 and 268.51 mg/L, for the aspartame ranged between 41.94 and 881.98 mg/L and for saccharine ranged between 0 and 83.75 mg/L, respectively.
