摘要

Functional nucleic acids have attracted growing interest due to potential applications in chemical biology, bioanalysis or nanotechnology as well as material science. Bile acids are endogenous molecules with applications in biology, medicine, physiology, supramolecular chemistry and nanoscience. Their unique facial amphiphilicity with their chirality make bile acids appealing building blocks in novel constructions. We anticipate that the conjugation of bile acids to nucleosides and nucleic acids may result in molecules with interesting properties such as potential ability to form supramolecular entities by self aggregation etc.
