Nickel-Catalyzed Denitrogenative Alkyne Insertion of 1,2,3-Benzotriazin-4(3H)-ones

The development of efficient methods for the synthesis of the 1(2H)-isoquinolone ring system is an important research area in both organic and medicinal chemistry. We report herein a nickel-catalyzed denitrogenative alkyne insertion reaction of 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-ones, which presents a new synthetic approach to substituted 1(2H)-isoquinolones.
