PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one derivative having a sulfonyl group at the 3-position, capable of producing the derivative in a high yield. ;SOLUTION: This method of producing the 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4 (3H)-one derivative comprises reacting a compound expressed by the general formula (II) (Rl, R2, R3 and R4 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an aryl or the like) with a compound expressed by the general formula (III) (R5 is an alkyl or an aryl; and X is a halogen) in the presence of a base in an organic solvent to form the 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one derivative expressed by the general formula (I), wherein a base which is slightly soluble in the organic solvent is used as the base, and the reaction is carried out in a solid-liquid two phase system.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
