Effects of Spraying Rare Earths on Tea quality

Rare earth microelements fertilizer (REMF) can increase yield and quality of crops including tea, and the fertilizer is widely applied in Chinese agriculture. Tea is an early-prepared beverage, which is quite different from other crops. People are concerned about the change in contents of REEs in tea after spraying the fertilizer comparing standard reference tea, and about the effects of spraying REMF on quality of tea and activities of polysaccharide bound REEs in tea. The changes and the effects have been determined in this paper. The results show that the longer the interval between spraying REMF and picking the tea plant shoots, the less the effects of spraying REMF on contents of REEs and effective compounds in tea. There were 1420 -3773 μg/kg REEs binding polysaccharide, the amount of REEs bound polysaccharide was decreased with the interval longing. The activities of polysaccharide with higher REEs were better than that of polysaccharide with lower REEs.
