PINPOINTING THE REAL ZEROS OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS

We present a new algorithm for extracting the real zeros of an analytic function. The algorithm makes use of known results of analytic function theory. The distinguishing feature of the algorithm is its ability to handle only zeros the analyst is interested in and to work with sufficient accuracy in cases where the number of zeros is extremely large. In the course of our discussion, we introduce two novel concepts: sweeping functions and size of polynomials.
