Improving Students' Meta-cognitive Skills within Intelligent Educational Systems: A Review

摘要

Metacognition aims at monitoring and regulating one's thinking devoted to problem-solving processes and learning habits among others cognitive tasks. Hence, individuals engaged in better acquisition of domain knowledge achieve higher scores when they are bewaring of how to exploit their metacog-nitive faculties. Thus, we present a review of some models and methods with the purpose to understand what metacognition is and know how stimulate meta-cognitive skills. In addition, we propose a Metacognition-Driven Learning paradigm as a reference to guide the design of Intelligent Educational Systems oriented to improve students' metacognitive skills.
