A method for obtaining corn oil from corn germs is described. Thus, 120kg corn germs (water content=50%, pH=3.6) were hydrated with 240kg H2O ti give slurry contg. 16.6% of dried material, which was milled to give =160 particles. After centrifugation, pure corn oil was obtained. Characteristics of the oil were as follows: free fatty acid=1.2-1.4% peroxides, meq. O2/kg oil =o, color(yellow/red)=42/10.6, viscosity (40C,CPS)=28.6-29.2, and purity=100%.
