Press platen for pressing pressed-material mats in the manufacture of particle boards, fibreboards and the like, having steam outlet openings in the surface on the side of the material to be pressed and also steam guide channels in the cross-section region on the side of the material to be pressed and having holes for heat-transfer medium in the adjoining cross-section region. The steam guide channels are formed by chambers between steam guide strips which are placed next to one another on a steel plate carrying the holes for the heat-transfer medium. The steam outlet openings are formed between the steam guide strips. IMAGE
