The cultivation and development of carrots and similar root vegetables takes place in the base trays (2) of this installation. The installation consists basically of a frame (5), which is removable and has the dimensions approximately that of the base tray (2). A primary pivoting mechanism (22) is provided at the level of the position used for loading the roots into the trays. The mechanism is suitable to lowering the frame to the interior of the tray to be loaded, to lie around the edge of the space to be filled. When the tray is filled with the root vegetables to the limits of the area delimited by the frame, the mechanism lifts the frame out. USE/ADVANTAGE - Tray produces more uniform growth and improved quality of root vegetable.
