This method is used in running off the after wort in brewing, in a clarifying vat, which includes a rotary blade stirrer with attached distributor for introduction of the last runnings and/or wort sludge and/or cloudy liquor. The spent malt is rinsed away by hot water sprayed from above, following first wort recovery. The novelty is that the hot water for the second wort is introduced via the distributor (3). Also claimed is a clarification vat for the above process, with a rotary blade stirrer (2) and a rotating distributor (3) fed by lines (9, 10, 11), with at least one hot water line (12) connected into them.
