The plastic articles, having divergent side walls and an opening at one end and a transverse base (F) at the other, are made by thermoforming in two different shapes and stacking them alternately. The different shapes comprises, for example, two different bases (2. 3) with drain holes (1), one base with relief ribs in an X-formation and the other Y-shaped, or by having a single transverse rib, one across the center of the base and the other to one side of the center. The outer rims of the articles can be made with different numbers of notches (27). The articles are made from a thermoformable strip 1 mm thick and 1 m wide on a thermoforming machine with at least one die and two different matrices.
