Coated pieces, especially furniture or structural pieces with a carrier (2) supporting a resin impregnated decoration carrier (4), where the resin is a shrinkage-free epoxy resin, over which the decoration carrier (4) is fixed to the surface of the carrier (2), with the outer layer (6) fixed to the top of the decoration carrier (4) is new. An Independent claim is included for preparation of a coated piece by setting a decoration carrier (4) steeped in epoxy resin on a carrier plate (2) and pressing of separation piece (7) onto the decoration carrier (4).
