PURPOSE: A thermoelectric material composition is provided, which can form an IZO sintered body having the best thermoelectric performance. And a thermoelectric element using the IZO sintered body is provided also, which has improved heat/electric conversion efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The thermoelectric material composition is a composition of k=7 having the largest performance index calculated by using an electroconductivity, a thermoelectromotive force, and a heat conductivity of a homologous compound of ZnkIn2Ok+3, wherein the thermoelectromotive force and the heat conductivity are measured at an interval of 50deg.C in the range of 250-900deg.C in the air. The thermoelectric material composition is produced by a process containing the steps of: mixing ZnO and In2O3 to form ZnkIn2Ok+3 of k=7; drying and calcining the mixture to make a powder; molding the powder and sintering to the sintered body. And the thermoelectric element is produced by using the sintered body.
