A sericin which anti-oxidation activity and tyrosinase inhibition activity are increased is provided to enhance the radical removement and tyrosinase suppression and use the sericin as an ingredient of functional food, cosmetic product, feed, and medicinal product. A sericin increases the molecular weight by irradiation and enhances tyrosinase suppression activity and antioxidation activity. The irradiation is gamma ray, electronic beam, X-ray, and the amount of absorption is 10-500 kGy. A modification of molecular structure is to reduce secondary structure of alpha-helix. The modification of molecular structure is to increase secondary structure such as beta-sheet, beta-turn, or random coil. The sericin by irradiation is separated or synthesized from a cocoon. The molecular weight of sericin is 2 kDa-1000 kDa.
