In some embodiments, theporous substrates are elements oftransder-mal delivery devices. In someembodi-ments, the highly viscous compositionscomprise alkylcellulose ethers, orderiva-tives thereof, in particular, hydroxypropylcellulose. Such may be useful incontinu-ous web-based manufacturing processes.
