摘要

A garnet-type solid electrolyte contains a crystal that has at least one crystal face selected from the { 110} faces, {112} faces, {100} faces, {102} faces, {312} faces, {521 } faces, and {611 } faces. A battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a solid electrolyte interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, the solid electrolyte being the aforementioned garnet-type solid electrolyte. A method of producing a garnet-type solid electrolyte that contains Li, La, Zr, and O includes a preparation step of preparing a lithium-containing compound, a lanthanum-containing compound, and a zirconium-containing compound; a mixing step of obtaining a mixture by mixing these compounds such that a molar ratio among the elements satisfies Li : La : Zr = a : b : c (where a is from 120 to 160, b is from 1 to 5, and c is from 1 to 5); and a heating step of heating the mixture at from 400 to 1,200°C.
