A bracing receptacle is suitable for the centring and force-related support of tools in valve housings (2). During different steps of machining of the valve housing (2), the device (41) can remain as an exactly reproducible tool support in the valve housing (2). An X-Y adjustment slide (A) makes it possible to adjust a centring sleeve (Z) and thus a highly precise reference system with respect to an axis of symmetry of the valve housing (2). The good repeatability in the positioning of tools in the centring sleeve (Z) allows a rapid and reproducible tool change which does not require any further measurement and reorientation. The repeatable tool support provides its advantages in particular in conjunction with a tool changing system for multifunctional machining and measuring tasks. All necessary tools can be docked in a repeatable manner in the centring sleeve Z of the device (41) via a receiving cone. The device (41) furthermore makes it possible to stabilize the tools which are docked in the centring sleeve (Z). The force-related support in the valve housing (2) is in this case also sufficient for machining operations on hardened surfaces.
