An electric sunshade cover opening device (5) for a side window, wherein the cover opening device (5) is arranged to be connected between a base (1) of the electric sunshade for the side window and a protective cover (2) which fits onto a groove (1A) pivotable on a top of the base (1) and being connected to a curtain support bar (3), the cover opening device (5) comprising: a driving member (10) for attachment to the curtain support bar (3) a socket (20) for mounting on the groove (1A) located at the top of the base (1), the socket (20) comprising: a first through hole (21) formed vertically therethrough wherein the first through-hole (21) allows the curtain support rod (3) and the drive member (10) to pass therethrough, a connection component (30) having an abutment portion (31) under the base (20) and the tre ibelement (10) of the curtain support bar (3) and having at least one connecting rod portion (32) connected to the abutment portion (31) and connecting the abutment portion (31) to the protective cover (2), wherein when the abutment portion (31 ) against the driving member (10) attached to the curtain support rod (3) abuts and is pushed down therefrom, the at least one connecting rod member (32) connected to the abutment member (31) drives the protective cover (2) to pivot and cover the groove (1A) of the base (1), and a spring member (40) for connecting the base (1) to the protective cover (2) and providing a spring force for driving the protective cover (2) starting from the groove (1A) of the base (1) to open.
