У статті подається систематизована теоретична інформація щодо основних характеристик комунікативної поведінки перекладача. Розглядаються інстинктивні, розсудливі й інтуїтивні типи комунікативної поведінки перекладача. Визначаються прототипні комунікативні ситуації кожного типу поведінки. Уточнюється поняття когнітивного стилю перекладача. ud(The article deals with translator’s communicative behaviour and its main characteristic features. Communicative behaviour is defined as behavior regulated by norms and traditions of communication. Based on systematic theoretical information,udthe instinctive, rational and intuitive types of translator’s communicative behaviour are considered. The instinctive communicative behaviour is characterized by spontaneity, condensation and accented emotionality. The rational communicative behaviour requires strategic thinking and planning. The intuitive communicative behaviour is synthetic and situational. Theudprototype communicative situations of each of these types of behaviour are analyzed. The instinctive communicative behaviour of a translator takes place only in oral communication and especially in persuasive types of discourse such as political, oratory or didactic. The rational communicative behavior of a translator is required in all types of oral and written communication.udThe intuitive communicative behavior can be traced in everyday discourse as well as in artistic and scientific types of discourse. The translator looks for certain meaning and symbolism through analogy, but the interpretation of symbols is oftenudsubjective. The concept of translator’s cognitive style, a sort of perception, categorization, understanding and interpreting reality specificity of an individual, is clarified.)
