MARRIAGE REFLECTED IN HENRIK IBSENS A DOLLS HOUSE PLAYud(1879): A FEMINIST APPROACH

The research is proposed to analyze Marriage which is respresented by theudcharacter in Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House play by Feminist Approach. The researchudsets two objectives: first is to analyze the play based on the Feminist Approach.Thisudstudy is qualitative using the play of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House play (1879)as theudobject. There are two kinds of data source: primary and secondary. The primary dataudsources is the play of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House play and the secondary dataudsource are some literary books and some articles related to the play. The method ofudcollecting data in the research is library research by reading and summarising theuddata. In analyzing the data, the writer employs descriptive analysis. The outcome ofudthe study is as follow: first, In this drama, based on the structural analysis of eachudelements, it shows that the character and characterization, setting, plot, theme, pointudof view, style are related to each other as a narrative elements and technical elementsudsuch as mise en scene (set dressing and props, costumes and make up, lighting, anduddesign), sound and symbol. Second, based on feminist approach, marriage system inudA Doll’s House harms women’s, because women are marginalized and oppresed.
