摘要

The purpose of this study is to identify relationships between the managerialudcompetencies and employee performance with employee engagement playing audmediator role. The managerial competencies include a set of skills that is requiredudby managers at workplace. This study employs five managerial competenciesuddomains as the main skills that is being investigated namely conceptual domain,udinterpersonal domain, leadership domain, administrative domain and technicaluddomain while employee commitment and employee satisfaction are employed asudthe predictor for employee engagement. This study was conducted among theudemployees of Private Higher Educational Institution (PHEI) in Kota Kinabalu withudthe aim to overcome the challenges being faced by the PHEI - the rapid downturnudof PHEI. The result of this study may be useful among the managers of PHEI toudload themselves with skills that are essentially needed to boost employeeudperformance.
