Outline and Application of GEROS: A European Grid Generator for Rotorcraft211 Simulation Methods

GEROS is the name of a grid generator system for the modeling of complex multi-211u001ebladed rotors under development in Europe as a part of the development of a 211u001ecomplete rotorcraft simulation method: The Brite/EuRam Eros project. The grid 211u001egenerator exploits a CHMERA domain decomposition on structured grids. The 211u001edevelopment is being carried out by rotorcraft manufacturers (Agusta, ECD, GKN-211u001eWestland), research centers (CIRA, DERA, DLR, ONERA), and Universities (Polit. 211u001eMilano, Univ. Bristol, Univ. Glasgow, Univ. Rome 3). This paper discusses the 211u001ecapabilities of the GEROS grid generator and presents relevant results.
