Identification of Hearing Loss in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

The project was designed to compare three of the most commonly used screening procedures to determine the incidence of hearing loss in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital, to identify the most predictive procedure or cluster of procedures for screening hearing loss in the NICU, to study the relationship between hearing screening procedures and the outcome of independent audiometric and developmental measures, and to identify the most cost effective mass hearing screening procedures.
