A description of techniques for FE (Finite Element) mesh generation from CSG(Constructive Solid Geometry) models and their implementation is given. The results obtained with the implemented techniques are described and discussed. The starting point is a solid model specified with CSG, and a mesh density function controlling the size of the finite elements derived from the model. A BRep (Boundary Representation) is derived with a boundary evaluation procedure that uses a dual representation (algebraic and rational polynomial parametric) for the faces of the primitives of the CSG model. Meshing the resulting BRep was divided into two steps: triangulating the faces of the BRep; and deriving a tetrahedral mesh from this triangulation (discussed but not implemented).
